The intent behind the compilation of the book was clearly noted by the author, and he stated, “I did not come across a book (on prayer) that covered the topic comprehensively, so I felt obliged to produce a book that collected together as many features of the Prophet’s prayer (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) as possible, from the takbeer (opening of the prayer) to the tasleem (concluding of the prayer)…” He further asserted his preferred methodology employed in the book, by adopting strict principles of adhering to the authentic Sunnah, and the difficult task he was faced in ensuring that. It has thus developed into a study text, and a valuable primer setting a standard in reviving the method of our prayer – and becoming a means in perfecting our servitude towards Allah in the Prophetic manner. It is our hope that this new English rendering will ensure an earnest continuation in helpingMuslims who wish to follow the guidance of their Prophet (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) in their daily worship. And that the utilisation of this work becomes a catalyst for those who truly love the Prophet (may Allah bestow His Mercy upon him) in fulfilling his command to, “Pray as you have seen me praying.”
Before you is an explanation of one of the classical works on prayer and ablution written by the Imaam and Mujaddid of the 13th century, Muhammad bin Abdil-Wahhaab, may Allaah have mercy on him. This book: “The Conditions, Pillars and Requirements of Prayer” is a brief treatise designed for easy memorization and retaining since the author lists each point briefly followed by its proof from the Qur’an and Sunnah. The study and careful review of this classical work will give the reader a concise and general understanding of the basic fundamentals and legal rulings of ablution and prayer and produce students with firm knowledge of the core and subsidiary issues of prayer, which is the first thing we will be asked about on the Day of Judgement. It is for this reason that this classical work continues to be taught today all over the world. From among the several scholars that explained this treatise are Shaikhs Muhammad Amaan Al-Jaamee and ‘Abdul-Mushin Al-‘Abbaad. In an effort to bring as much benefit as possible to the English readers, both of these explanations have been translated and included in this book.
This publication is a compilation of Islaamic Verdicts from Scholars such as: Shaykh Wasee-‘Ullaah ‘Abbaas Shaykh ‘Alee at-Tuwayjaree Shaykh Ahmad Bazmool Shaykh Sulayman ar-Ruhaylee Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadee Shaykh Saalih as-Suhaymee Shaykh ‘Ubayd al-Jaabiree Shaykh Khaalid ar-Raddaadee Shaykh ‘Alee Naasir al-Faqihee Shaykh ‘Abdullaah al-Jarboo’a Shaykh ‘Umar as-Sumaalee Shaykh Taraaheeb ad-Dawsiree Shaykh ‘Abdullaah al-Bukhaaree Therefore from the aforementioned you should take notice that this is a ground breaking publication because of its nature, and because these Scholars have not yet been included in any books of Fataawaa in the English language to our knowledge. We pray that you benefit so that we may benefit, Aameen
