The aim is to show the importance of qawa’id in the area of ijtihad and finding out the legal status for the novel issues. This has been presented in the last chapter.
As-Siyaam (Fasting) in the language means: Refraining from a thing.
In the legislation it means refraining from food, drink, and the rest of the nullifiers; from the appearance of the second Fajr to the setting of the sun, in worship of Allaah, the mighty and majestic.
Allaah has obligated fasting upon his slaves within every religion.
Allaah, the exalted, has said: “O You who believe! Observing As-Sawm (the fasting) is prescribed for you is it was prescribed for those before you. That you may become al- muttaqun (pious)”.
The intent behind the compilation of the book was clearly noted by the author, and he stated, “I did not come across a book (on prayer) that covered the topic comprehensively, so I felt obliged to produce a book that collected together as many features of the Prophet’s prayer (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) as possible, from the takbeer (opening of the prayer) to the tasleem (concluding of the prayer)…” He further asserted his preferred methodology employed in the book, by adopting strict principles of adhering to the authentic Sunnah, and the difficult task he was faced in ensuring that. It has thus developed into a study text, and a valuable primer setting a standard in reviving the method of our prayer – and becoming a means in perfecting our servitude towards Allah in the Prophetic manner. It is our hope that this new English rendering will ensure an earnest continuation in helpingMuslims who wish to follow the guidance of their Prophet (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) in their daily worship. And that the utilisation of this work becomes a catalyst for those who truly love the Prophet (may Allah bestow His Mercy upon him) in fulfilling his command to, “Pray as you have seen me praying.”
Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan said, “O Muslim, be consistent with the regular supererogatory Prayers, imitating the excellent example of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Being Consistent with the supererogatory Prayer is also a way to compensate for any fault or deficiency that transpired in the obligatory Prayers.
In addtion, he discusses the two types of Sunnah: The clear Sunnah and the implied Sunnah.

The greatest action of worship which manifests the Khushu, of the body to Allah is the prayer (salah). If a sick person went to the doctor for treatment and was advised to avoid certain delicious foods to preserve his health, he would believe the doctor and comply with the doctor’s orders. Despite this, we see many people disobeying Allāh and His Messenger by leaving off the obligations while doing prohibited actions; although he reads and hears the commands and prohibitions. He knows the permissible and the impermissible. Therefore, is the doctor more truthful to them than Allāh, the Exalted? Or is their sickness more severe to them than the Hellfire?
The scholars say, If the pain which afflicts the heart is connected with something from the past the it is sadness. If it is connected with something from the future, then it is anxiety. If it I connected to the current condition of the person then it is grief.
Upon investigation into the path to remedy, for grief, and striving to repel and emove this from ones heart, we find that the people are greatly negligent and turn tto variosus directions which are astray from a real remedy. There is nothing which can heal, give ease, give harmony, there is no medicine or cure except in truly returning to Allah the Majestic and High.

So, the book of Allah, the mighty and majestic, begins with the du’a and ends with it. The du’a, which is within Al-Fatihah, is the greatest of supplications hands down. (It contains) asking Allah, the blessed and high, for guidance to the straight path and that the servant avoids the paths of those who are astray and those upon whom is the anger of Allah. The last of the book of Allah, the mighty and majestic, contains the du’a of seeking refuge with him, glorified and exalted be he, from the evil of the one who whispers and withdraws; the one who whispers into the hearts of mankind; from the jinn as well as men, in order to make them deviate from the straight path of Allah and upright way.
Verily the book ‘The important lessons for the every Muslim is a valuable book concerning a topic of extreme importance by an eminent Imam, and Shaykh, advisor, concerned cultivator, who is none other than the Imam, the scholar, Abdul Aziz ibn Abdullah ibn Baz; may Allah have mercy upon him.
