This is a series of lectures based on the book The Importance of Time in the Muslim’s Life by Shaykh ‘Abdur Razzaaq Bin Abdul Muhsin Al ‘Abbaad Al-Badr, delivered by Shaykh Abdur Rauf Shakir.
The classic work of the great scholar of Najd, Shaykh al-Islaam Muhammad ibn ‘Abdil-Wahhaab (may Allaah have Mercy on him), Nawaaqidh al-Islaam, “The Things that Nullify One’s Islaam,” is explained by the virtuous shaykh, Saalih al-Fawzaan (may Allaah preserve him), passage by passage, in a way that will help the Muslims grasp a clear understanding of the nature of the things that nullify one’s Islaam and its manifestations.
We have compiled The Three Fundamental Principles in a format that is easy to memorise, study and utilise in inviting to Islaam. It is easily accessible for both young and old. This is Part 1 in a series of texts that we have prepared for print and distribution.
This remembrance has merits and virtues none but Allah fully encompasses – the meanings and implications of which, lead to certainty and solace through strengthening ones’ faith and connection with Allah. This special dhikr is of such importance that the author (may Allah preserve him) saw the need to single it out in this short treatise, entitling it, “The Hawqala: Its meanings, virtues, and creedal implications”. It is hoped Muslims will focus their efforts in meaningfully utilising this phrase and making it a regular feature of their every day lives, along with other types of remembrances of Allah.
Author Note: The following is an explanation of some verses from the Mighty Book of Allāh. I wrote it because, while reciting the Noble Qur’ān, I pass by some verses and some of the treasures therein come to mind; thus, I wanted to illustrate those treasures. This goal was achieved—and all praises belong to Allāh—with the writing of this book; and while editing the book, I thought to write concerning some other verses as well.
So this is a precious pearl and an incomparable treatise written by the red pen of the Shaikh, the Jurist (faqih), the exegete (mufassir): Abdur-Rahman Ibn Nasir As-Sa’di (rahimahullah) in which he offers advice to the laypeople of the Ummah and encourages them to unify their word and he cautions them against splitting and differing, which leads to quarrelling and mutual hatred.
This highly significant book, authored by the great scholar, Shaykh Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhab is explained by Shaykh Muhammad Aman al-Jami. The explainer list the seven essential components of La ilaha illallah and meticulously clarifies each one, giving the reader an in-depth understanding of this monumental utterance.
Its reported that ʿIkrimah (Allāh have mercy on him) said: Everyone gets happy and gets sad, but you should turn your happiness into gratitude (to Allāh) and your sadness into patience (ṣabr).
