The Prophet Muhammad (Sallahu alayhi wassalam) said: “The example of guidance and knowledge with which Allah has sent me is like abundant rain falling on the earth. Some of which was fertile soil that absorbed rain-water and brought forth vegetation and grass in abundance. (And) another portion of it was hard and held the rain-water and Allah benefited the people with it and they utilized it for drinking (making their animals drink from it) and to irrigate the land for cultivation. (And) a portion of it was barren which could neither hold the water nor bring forth vegetation (then that land gave no benefits). The first is the example of the person who comprehends Allah’s Religion (Islam) and gets benefit (from the knowledge) which Allah (Azawajal) has revealed through me (the Prophet) and learns and then teaches it to others.
This book defines the concept of Tauhid, and exposes dubious beliefs and improper rituals that are conducive to Shirk, the gravest of all sins which condemns man to eternal torment in Hell. It also discusses the status of the Prophet sallahu alayhi wassallam and the incumbency of loving and reverting him. In brief, this book is a must for every Muslim.
In this book, the stories of the prophets have been compiled from ‘Al-Bidayah wan-Nihayah’ (The Beginning and the End) which is a great work of the famous Muslim exegete and historian Ibn Kathir and has a prominent place in the Islamic literature. The stories of the prophets and all the events in their lives have been supported by the Qur’anic Verses and the Sunnah (traditions) of the Prophet (Sallahu alayhi wassallam).
Since knowing Allah is one of the foremost obligations in the religion of Islam, and the topic of Tauhid (Monotheism) is the most important study for that knowledge, this collection is prepared to provide an easily usable reference in the form of easy, concise and simple writings on this topic. Also included in this collection are articles explaining the truth about certain common misunderstandings as regards creed issues.
Therefore, He didn’t leave anything good except that He made it clear to us; and He didn’t leave anything evil except that he made it clear to us. Thus, among the greatest causes for the Ummah’s salvation is clinging to the Aqeedah and Tawheed, its avoiding Shirk and bid’ah.
So the foundation of the causes, which saves (us) from fitan(i.e. plural for trial) is Tawheed, avoidance of Shirk, Bid’ah, and new matters in the religion.
A parable is a statement that compares one thing to another due to a resemblance between them in order to clarify one from the other and to form it in the mind, and there is no doubt that using parables and examples improve understanding. It does so by bringing to the mind something tangible. Allah says (and His speech consists of the greatest, most definitive proofs):
“And these similitudes We put forward for mankind, but none will understand them except those who have knowledge (of Allâh and His Signs, etc.).”
