Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan said, “O Muslim, be consistent with the regular supererogatory Prayers, imitating the excellent example of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Being Consistent with the supererogatory Prayer is also a way to compensate for any fault or deficiency that transpired in the obligatory Prayers.
In addtion, he discusses the two types of Sunnah: The clear Sunnah and the implied Sunnah.
To conclude, twelve points of benefit summarize the excellence of the Sunnah, its lofty status and clear any misconceptions surrounding this noble topic.
“(This is) a Book (the Qur’ān) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings that they may ponder over its verses, and that men of understanding may remember.” [Sād:29].
From its harms is the Shayateen gaining mastery over the addict and the angels of mercy being far away from him, until he is driven to the Hellfire, and the refuge is with Allaah. Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic said:
“And whosoever turns away (blinds himself) from the remembrance of the Most Beneficent (Allaah) (i.e. this Qur’aan and worship of Allaah), We appoint for him Shaytaan (Satan _ devil) to be a Qarîn (an intimate companion) to him. And verily, they (devils) hinder them from the Path (of Allaah), but they think that they are guided aright! Till, when (such a one) comes to Us, he says [to his Qarîn (Satan / devil companion)] “Would that between me and you were the distance of the two easts (or the east and west)” a worst (type of) companion (indeed)! It will profit you not this Day (O you who turn away from Allaah’s remembrance and His worship, etc.) as you did wrong, (and) that you will be sharers (you and your Qarîn) in the punishment.”
To proceed: Verily, the most truthful speech is the Speech of Allaah and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad ‘alayi was salaat was salaam . The worst of affairs are the newly invented matters. Every newly invented matter is an innovation, every innovation is misguidance, and all misguidance is in the Hellfire. To proceed:
I have entitled this book Interaction with the Scholars. I have divided it into five chapters, and I have presented an introduction in the beginning and an epilogue in the end.
“My father gave me a gift, so Amra bint Rawahah said: ‘I will not be happy until you make the Messenger of Allâh (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) a witness to this.’ Then the Messenger of Allâh (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) came, so he said: ‘I gave my son from Amra bint Rawahah a gift, but she ordered me to tell you, oh Messenger of Allah.” He said: “Did you give the rest of your children the same as this?’ He said: ‘No.’ He said: ‘Fear Allâh and be fair to all your children.’ So he went and took back the gift.”
