The aim is to show the importance of qawa’id in the area of ijtihad and finding out the legal status for the novel issues. This has been presented in the last chapter.
In contrast to that, from the most astonishing of matters, yet not strange, is that despite the rise of the other nations in these times as regards astonishing industrial production, miraculous inventions, and awesome power, they do not increase in anything but misery. This is to the extent that their civilization, although they are amazed by it and it is submitted to by other nations, is under the threat of total destruction at all times.
This book is a heartfelt plea to all those who have been misled by this world and Shayṭān to return to guidance and is a kind invitation back to Islam. Do not despair of Allah’s Mercy.
So this is a precious pearl and an incomparable treatise written by the red pen of the Shaikh, the Jurist (faqih), the exegete (mufassir): Abdur-Rahman Ibn Nasir As-Sa’di (rahimahullah) in which he offers advice to the laypeople of the Ummah and encourages them to unify their word and he cautions them against splitting and differing, which leads to quarrelling and mutual hatred.
