The Sheikh wrote this aqeedah in order to clarify his beliefs and to prove that his aqeedah was the aqeedah of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa’ah and that he did not come with anything new and that whatever was attributed to him was a lie…
So that is the basis of this treatise, in which he answered a questions about his ‘aqeedah…So when the news of the Shaykh and whatever had been circulated about him reached them, they wrote to him to ask him about his ‘aqeedah. So he wrote this treatise to clarify in it his ‘aqeedah and what he was upon and he removed any doubts to the contrary.
This book is about Tawhid, I have endeavored to be concise their in, employing only simple language. I have compiled it from several amongst the books of our leading eminent scholars, particularly from the book of Shaykh Al-Islam Muhamma bin Abdul-Wahab and his students, amongst the notable scholars of this blessed call.
The author extracted these aspects from the Qur’aan and Sunnah and summarized them in a short treatise as individual points. Therefore, He didn’t leave anything good except that He made it clear to us; and He didn’t leave anything evil except that he made it clear to us. Thus, among the greatest causes for the Ummah’s salvation is clinging to the Aqeedah and Tawheed, its avoiding Shirk and bid’ah.
So the foundation of the causes, which saves (us) from fitan(i.e. plural for trial) is Tawheed, avoidance of Shirk, Bid’ah, and new matters in the religion.
Altogether, this combination of a scholar’s guidance and wisdom with a student of knowledge’s research and investigation makes for an incredible and invaluable resource for Muslims everywhere to benefit from.
